On February 3rd and 4th, 2001, GREGALAN WILLIAMS' 1534 CLEVELAND premiered in both Johnston and Waterloo. About 300 guests attended the screening at the Iowa Public Television studios in Johnston. The program was followed by a 30-minute open forum conducted by GregAlan. Audience responses ranged from "Thank you for telling this story" to "Where can I get a copy of this production?"
In Waterloo, the crowd at the Waterloo Fine Arts Center numbered about 40. Even though the size of the crowd was reduced by the threat of bad weather, the responses during GregAlan's question-and-answer period were the same.
Overall, both groups enjoyed the production and many of the audience members were inspired to discuss their own life experiences with others.
