Web sites, blogs, podcasts, vidcasts, HDTV and more - how is the new digital media affecting the way we receive and enjoy entertainment? How is it changing learning styles in Iowa’s classrooms? And 65 years after the first digital computer was built right here in Iowa, how is it changing the way Iowans gather information? We’ll answer these questions and pose several more on our next Assignment Iowa.

But in an electronic environment that seems to be changing daily, how do students and teachers learn to balance the advantages of technology in the classroom with what some see as its accompanying social disadvantages? To find out, Assignment Iowa spent a day at Iowa State University experiencing education with a digital “e.”

And amidst this rapidly changing digital domain, Assignment Iowa asked the experts to peer into their crystal iPods for a glimpse of the digital future.
