These days, thanks to hand-held digital technology, you can watch your favorite TV show or movie just about anywhere. But sooner or later most of us are going to have to decide how to replace that living room staple, the family television set. Assignment Iowa goes on an HDTV buying trip, where we learn from the experts what to look for, and how to receive the constantly expanding assortment of high definition television programs.
In the world of education, while students still read books and teachers still use overhead projectors, there’s no denying that digital media has changed the way students live and learn – especially on our college campuses. But in an electronic environment that seems to be changing daily, how do students and teachers learn to balance the advantages of technology in the classroom with what some see as its accompanying social disadvantages? To find out, Assignment Iowa spent a day at Iowa State University experiencing education with a digital “e.”
