I don't think our imagination is good enough to really know what it would be like to have to leave your family. Often they had to leave their families, leave all their possessions, go some place where they didn't know anything about it, not being able to speak the language or understand the culture—any of that. Think of the fear you would have. We can't even begin to understand that.
