A Bison Jump
Time Frame: Approximately 10,000 to 3,000 Years Ago
Archaic people killed large numbers of bison by stampeding them over cliffs. Men and women lined up to form a V-shaped trap into which the bison were driven. Shouting and wavng blankets and firebrands, the hunters sent the terrified animals over the cliff edge to their deaths at the foot of the jump.
