Around 11 a.m. today, a utilities contractor cut a fiber cable feeding into Iowa Public Television studios in Johnston, unexpectedly disrupting the station’s broadcast signal serving eastern Iowa. The line has been repaired and IPTV came back on the air at 10:30 tonight. The outage affected KIIN Channel 12 in Iowa City, KQIN Channel 36 in Davenport, KRIN Channel 32 in Waterloo and KYIN Channel 24 in Mason City. The service outage did not impact Mediacom subscribers. Any new programming scheduled to air during this service disruption will be rescheduled for broadcast at a later date. Viewers...
