Sanditon

Advance Screening of Sanditon on Masterpiece

When Jane Austen was chronically ill with a mysterious disease in early 1817, she turned her thoughts to a happier subject. She started work on a witty and delightful novel set in a seaside town. She never finished it. Now, noted screenwriter Andrew Davies finishes the story and brings it to Masterpiece.

Sanditon is a sleepy seaside village, but for those with vision, like Tom Parker, it’s on its way to becoming a deluxe and fashionable resort! As for Sanditon on Masterpiece, it is a bold adaptation of Jane Austen’s final, unfinished work, about what happens when the spirited yet levelheaded Charlotte Heywood arrives in Sanditon as Parker’s guest…and what happens when she goes head-to-head with his witty, prickly, yet decidedly handsome brother, Sidney.
