Iowa Public Television Announces Communities for 2018 Reading Road Trip

This summer, 26 lucky Iowa communities will receive a visit from Iowa Public Television’s Dan Wardell as a part of his twelfth annual Reading Road Trip. IPTV partners with libraries statewide to promote summer reading each year. This summer, the Reading Road Trip will travel through the following communities: Algona, Audubon, Boone, Carlisle, Cedar Rapids, Centerville, Clive, Coralville, Davenport, Glenwood, Independence, Indianola, Lohrville, Manly, Mapleton, Marble Rock, Marshalltown, Maynard, Mount Ayr, Red Oak, Rock Valley, Sioux Rapids, Storm Lake, Washington, Waterloo and Waukon.

Wardell, the popular host of the IPTV KIDS Clubhouse, will welcome kids and families in communities across the state with an engaging, interactive story time. As he has for more than a decade, Wardell will encourage kids to go outside and play, use their imaginations, read a good book and eat healthy foods.

Once the summer is over, Wardell will continue his Reading Road Trip story times throughout the school year as the Clubhouse production schedule permits. Fans can follow Dan Wardell’s year-long journey by visiting his online journal of Reading Road Trip adventures, complete with an interactive map, story time photos, videos and more. Kids and parents can expect an announcement of 2018 Reading Road Trip dates and times this spring. These story times are subject to change, and schedule updates are immediately posted to Iptv.org.
