IPTV Announces New Locally Produced Series IPTV KIDS Clubhouse to Premiere in June

Something big is about to happen at Iowa Public Television – something no other network in Iowa has done for more than 20 years. Today Iowa Public Television announced the IPTV KIDS Clubhouse will become a full-fledged, locally produced program complete with ten 30-minute episodes focused on Iowa children. Dedicated to fun, adventure and learning, the weekly series is set to launch June 3.

“The IPTV KIDS Clubhouse, hosted by Dan Wardell, has been part of IPTV’s annual Festival for more than a decade,” said IPTV Executive Director and General Manager Molly Phillips. “The clubhouse has been a place to play, learn and discover. The new series will continue that tradition, and will extend to online and social media platforms to complement the broadcast each week.”

The series aims to engage children, partner with parents, enrich on-air children’s programming, and supply schools and libraries with educational resources. Each episode will consist of segments in the brand new IPTV KIDS Clubhouse featuring activities, guests and puppets. Wardell will be joined by co-hosts Abby Brown, and puppets DanBot and Caveman, as they visit communities across the state, making Iowa’s children the stars of the show.

“I have some overarching themes that I’ve always included in my story times and my messages: Go outside and play, use your imagination, read a good book and eat healthy food,” said Wardell. “These messages will be incorporated in all aspects of the new IPTV KIDS Clubhouse show.”

IPTV is complimenting the series by creating a multimedia learning experience for Iowa children ages 3 through 10. Coordinating educational activities and resources will be available to parents and children beginning late this month at Iptv.org/Clubhouse.

A premiere party screening is planned for Saturday, April 23 at IPTV’s studio in Johnston. Iowa children and families will have a chance to screen an episode of IPTV KIDS Clubhouse, meet the cast, visit the new Clubhouse set and participate in educational activities.

Additionally, a special preview program will air in prime time throughout the month of May. The preview will frame the important educational and developmental mission of the series for parents, grandparents and caregivers, in addition to allowing viewers to get to know the many characters and concepts related to this new program.
