IPTV Hires New Education Services Director

Kenneth R. Harrison joins IPTV team from Chariton CSD

Iowa Public Television Executive Director and General Manager Molly Phillips announced today that Kenneth R. Harrison, the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for Chariton CSD has accepted the position of Director of Educational Services at IPTV in Johnston, Iowa. He will begin leading a team of highly skilled education professionals responsible for providing teachers, parents and caregivers high quality, innovative resources supporting the education and development of Iowa’s children.

“I am beyond thrilled to announce Ken Harrison as our new Director of Educational Services,” said Phillips. “His past experience in the classroom, as a Middle School and High School Principal and recent oversight of curriculum in the Chariton School District will add great perspective to IPTV’s educational offerings. He will bring lots of energy and great ideas to this position.”

Harrison is from Murray, Iowa and is a 1996 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He earned a second bachelor’s degree in Science Education from Montana State University – Bozeman. Additionally, he holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University in West Des Moines and an ED.S in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of South Dakota.

“Some of my earliest television memories stem from Iowa Public Television and I could not be more excited to be a part of this amazing team of talented and inspired individuals who are committed to IPTV’s mission to educate, inform, enrich and inspire young Iowans,” said Harrison.

Harrison’s first day on the job will be July 1.
