IPTV Premieres IPTV KIDS Clubhouse Series

Posted: May 24, 2016

Iowa Public Television is premiering its full-fledged, locally produced children’s program complete with ten 30-minute episodes focused on Iowa children. Dedicated to fun, adventure and learning, the IPTV KIDS Clubhouse series will premiere on statewide Iowa Public Television on Friday, June 3 at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Saturday, June 4 at 7 a.m. New episodes will premiere each week in these same time slots throughout the summer.

“The IPTV KIDS Clubhouse, hosted by Dan Wardell, has been part of IPTV’s annual Festival for more than a decade,” said IPTV Executive Director and General Manager Molly Phillips. “The clubhouse has been a place to play, learn and discover. The new series will continue that tradition, and will extend to online and social media platforms to complement the broadcast each week.”

The series aims to engage children, partner with parents, enrich on-air children’s programming, and supply schools and libraries with educational resources. Each episode will consist of segments in the KIDS Clubhouse featuring activities, guests and puppets. Wardell will be joined by co-hosts Abby Brown, and puppets DanBot and Caveman, as they visit communities across the state, making Iowa’s children the stars of the show.

“I have some overarching themes that I’ve always included in my story times and my messages: Go outside and play, use your imagination, read a good book and eat healthy food,” said Wardell. “These messages will be incorporated in all aspects of the new IPTV KIDS Clubhouse series.”

IPTV is complimenting the series by creating a multimedia learning experience for Iowa children ages 3 through 10. Coordinating educational activities and resources will be available to parents and children at Iptv.org/Clubhouse

Support for IPTV KIDS Clubhouse is provided by Blank Children’s Hospital and Casey’s General Stores.
