The Children’s Square U.S.A. Board of Directors announced details this week for the 2018 Jason Awards event, scheduled November 8 in Council Bluffs. The event recognizes individuals, couples, organizations or businesses that exemplify the mission of Children’s Square U.S.A. Jason Award recipients demonstrate an extraordinary degree of "caring, contribution and commitment" to children, families, communities and related causes. Their lives and work exemplify the "vision, courage and will" needed to embrace challenges and opportunities in life. The theme of this year's event is “Celebrating a Lifetime of Learning.”

Iowa Public Television will be an honored recipient as the Corporate Champion of Children and Communities. For nearly 50 years, IPTV has provided programming that educates, enlightens, and entertains Iowans of all ages.

The children’s programs developed and aired by IPTV have improved school readiness, early literacy, and social and emotional skills. These programs have equipped children with tools to be successful in school and life, and have helped parents and those who care for children. IPTV has demonstrated caring, contribution, and commitment through its outreach to Iowa communities helping children with learning needs and in its award-winning programming.
