Teen Spotlight: #IPTVSports Premieres on IPTV Sunday, July 17 at 1 p.m.

Iowa Public Television today announced Teen Spotlight: #IPTVSports will premiere on Sunday, July 17 at 1 p.m. The spotlight falls on Iowa girls’ high school athletics in this edition of Teen Spotlight.

Iowa has a long tradition of holding girls’ athletics in high regard and celebrating the "Iowa Girl." Meet some of the athletes and teams who are experiencing success in their sport, while at the same time setting themselves up for success in life. The program features the Clinton High School tennis team, Ankeny Centennial golfer Karli Kerrigan, discus thrower Kiana Phelps of Kingsley Pierson Woodbury Central, and former director of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the late E. Wayne Cooley.

Teen Spotlight: #IPTVSports is the third installment in the award-winning Teen Spotlight series, which highlights Iowa high school students in arts and sports. Teen Spotlight: #MusicalTheater won a Regional Emmy® Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Upper Midwest Chapter in 2014. 

Teen Spotlight: #IPTVSports will be rebroadcast Friday, July 22 at 9 p.m., immediately following IPTV’s live coverage of the 2016 IGHSAU Iowa Farm Bureau Girls State Softball Championships.
