Iowa Public Television is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its Reading Road Trip with a record-breaking 75 stops at libraries across the state. Dan Wardell, popular host of the IPTV KIDS Clubhouse, will welcome kids and families in communities across Iowa throughout the summer. Iowa Public Television will partner with 75 libraries to promote summer reading. Wardell, through an interactive original story, will encourage kids to read, play outside, use their imaginations and eat healthy foods. The 2016 Presidential Candidates Forum on Manufacturing , scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2015, has been cancelled. Iowa Public Television had planned to air the forum live on IPTV WORLD (.3) and rebroadcast it in the evening on its primary channel. The updated schedule is below. Iowa Public Television’s (IPTV) commitment to early childhood education continues with the expansion of its Ready for School initiative. Educational specialists will work with educators, parents, care providers and community partners in 25 Iowa communities to implement literacy-based activities for children ages two through eight years old.

We have a crew working on our Sioux City transmitter today. As a result, people in the Sioux City, Rock Rapids and Sibley (KSIN) areas will experience a service outage for a period of time today. If you live in these areas, you may see loss of your television signal as early as 9:30 am. The outage may last up until 3:30 pm, but we hope to have service restored before then. Please return to this page for progress updates as we work to restore service to these locations. Iowa Public Television is proud to be the home for Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Championships. The 2015 IGHSAU Iowa Farm Bureau Girls State Soccer Championships at the James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines will be broadcast LIVE on statewide Iowa Public Television. Teams from across the state will compete for their respective class titles. Photographer Focuses on Female Farmers , a piece produced and presented by Iowa Public Television, was recently recognized by the Iowa Broadcast News Association (IBNA) with a first place award in the Farm and Agribusiness category. IPTV’s Laurel Bower Burgmaier directed, produced and wrote Photographer Focuses on Female Farmers .
