Unlocking the Archives with DVD and Emerging TechnologiesAmericans have rapidly adopted DVD and broadband technologies; posed for widespread adoption next are video on demand and interactive TV technologies. New digital technologies will continue the trend of providing media consumers with more control over what they watch and how they watch it, and present new challenges -- and opportunities -- for content producers. For documentary producers, the challenges are unique. This presentation will focus on American Experience's recent approach to digital content creation for Web, DVD and broadband platforms, including audience assessment, product planning, technical and creative strategies, and organizational partnerships, and present a longer-term view of work in emerging technologies including video on demand. |
