As more and more stations consider new digital Master Control facilities, the major changes in the industry come into sharp focus. Servers, Compressed Streams, Automation, Multi-Channel, Multi-format, and new audio options make the design more challenging. The need to include Branding, EAS, AMBER and more within the design make things more complex than ever. Manufacturers have responded to these needs by developing new products that are compact, multi-featured, and combine several functions in a small package. This presentation will review some typical design criteria for a new digital Master Control facility and illustrate how the available products can fit into such designs in a functional and practical way.
