PEG + CAT is a preschool series that follows the adorable, spirited Peg and her sidekick Cat as they embark on adventures, solve problems and learn foundational math concepts and skills. PEG + CAT arrives to PBS KIDS this fall and follows these best friends as they find themselves in the middle of a messy, funny challenge. As obstacles test their problem-solving skills, they improvise, brainstorm, make mistakes, and never give up. As they use math to tame their wild and wacky world, they prove that math is empowering and cool.

The PEG + CAT television series is part of a multimedia experience that includes interactive games online at, hand-on activities for families and lesson plans for teachers and caregivers. Additional interactive features, including a mobile app, are slated to launch around the on-air premiere in fall 2013. All these elements connect storylines and characters for the series and reinforce math concepts through play and creative activities. Station outreach materials will be available closer to launch.

Series co-creators Billy Aronson and Jennifer Oxley, from 9ate7 Productions, have teamed up with The Fred Rogers Company to bring PEG + CAT to PBS KIDS. Billy Aronson is best known for his work in the theater, which includes the original concept/additional lyrics for the Broadway musical Rent. His television credits include scripts for The Wonder Pets! (head writer, Emmy Award), Upside Down Show, and Backyardigans. Jennifer Oxley’s award-winning work in children’s television includes directing and artistic credits. Jennifer is the recipient of an Emmy Award for her role as director on Little Bill, and she created the look and animation style of The Wonder Pets!, which recently won an Environmental Media Award and the prestigious Japan Prize. Kevin Morrison is the chief operating officer of The Fred Rogers Company, which produced the beloved classic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood as well as the new animated series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
