Iowa Public Television's Explore More multimedia series continues to be recognized by educators and the educational media industry for outstanding instructional quality and production excellence. Recent awards recognizing the project include:
2003 Iowa Motion Picture Association Award of Excellence for an Educational Production for Explore More: Working Landscapes
The Iowa Motion Picture Awards are awarded by the Iowa Motion Picture Association (IMPA) in recognition of outstanding creative and technical achievement in Iowa's moving image production industry, in all its forms. The winner in each category receives the Award of Excellence.
2003 Iowa Distance Learning Association Points of Presence Award for Explore More: Water Quality
This award is given to individuals or organizations for specific outstanding distance education programs and initiatives serving learners within (but not limited to) Iowa. The Points of Presence Awards celebrate excellent program design and implementation, based upon demonstrated impact on learners and learning communities.

2003-2004 Golden Web Award for the Explore More Web sites
Sponsored by the International Association of Webmasters and Designers, the Golden Web Awards are presented to those sites whose web design, originality and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving of recognition.

2002 Wilbur Schramm Award of Excellence for Explore More: Genetic Engineering
The Wilbur Schramm Award of Excellence is a national award that recognizes program excellence in the production of instructional television programs for use in K-12 classrooms in the United States. The Schramm Award honors the late Dr. Wilbur Schramm, a pioneer in mass communications and author of definitive books on the field. The annual awards competition is sponsored by the Center for Instructional Communications at the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) with support from the American Telecommunications Group's Center for Education Initiatives.

2001 PBS Eddie Award for Best Companion Content to a Local Broadcast for Explore More: Genetic Engineering
Sponsored by PBS, the Eddie recognizes PK-12 educational excellence for online resources. The Eddie Awards are designed to recognize producers and member stations who have gone "above and beyond" the call of duty in producing really exceptional K-12 online classroom content. Nominations for the Eddie are judged by a national panel of educators and professional association leaders who review classroom content such as lesson plans, teacher guides, and online activities for students, and/or professional development information for educators.
