Transcript: Maintain Connection to Nature

I personally feel that it's very important that we as individuals or as a society maintain that connection to our natural world as well as a connection to our cultural world. [Those are] our roots and [what make] us who we are today, be it Americans or citizens of another country. I truly hope that we are providing our children and our children's children with a rich legacy where we still have healthy ecosystems that are able to sustain [ourselves] while we're still growing as a nation economically and through other systems. I think we can do it and that's my hope and that's the mission of the National Park Service.
