What Goes Out (Bill Stowe, Wastewater Treatment Expert)
What goes in must come out. Hear how it happens from Bill Stowe.
TRANSCRIPT:
We, several times a day, collect what we actually bring into this plant and what we take out into the river at the end of this treatment process. The federal government has specific things they want us to look at. The basic things they want us to look at are things that would have biological organisms in the Des Moines River being stressed by the water that we're putting into the river. Either we're draining out too much of their oxygen content, or we're putting something that would stress the fish or aquatic life in the river. They basically tell us what to look for as we put it back into the river.
