I think a lot of people will look at a stream and think that it's poor water quality but it's not until you get into a stream and start doing water monitoring and not just chemical monitoring to look at the concentration of chemicals in the stream, but there are a lot of biological organisms that rely on streams in terms of the fish and the aquatic insects and they can often be good indicators of the health of the stream and the health of the watershed that's being drained by that water body.
