Training Sessions Regarding E-rate Have Been Scheduled for Fall 2009

The E-rate application process for funding year 2010 (2010-11 school year) is tentatively scheduled to begin in November. In order to prepare for the annual application, the Iowa Department of Education (DE) will offer a series of training sessions through the Iowa Communication Network (ICN) classrooms beginning in October. The first training sessions are designed to provide basics of the E-rate program and are particularly important for those individuals new to the E-rate program. The other two sessions are designed for all district/school/public library E-rate applicants.

Please note that both 470 and 471 training sessions will be offered via Adobe Connect. If you wish to participate via Adobe Connect, you will need a headset in order to participate.

Introduction to E-rate (designed for E-rate newcomers)

E-rate 102:
Filing form 470 (for new and returning E-rate contacts)

New this year:  The Iowa Department of Education will be working with Iowa Department of Administrative Services to develop some voluntary state master contracts which districts/schools/libraries may use for E-rate services.  You are strongly urged to attend one of these information sessions, even if you are experienced with the E-rate application process.
