Data Collection Tool for Teacher-Librarians
Subject Area:
    Professional Development
Cindy Blinkinsop, Julie Alfaro and Jeff Hoskins of the Mississippi Bend AEA have put together an Excel database to assist teacher-librarians in collecting and sharing their library data. Three primary sources were used in the development of the tool:
  • The State Library Annual Survey

  • The new Iowa Teacher-Librarian Standards

  • AASL Standards for the 21st Century

The data collected with this tool can be used for End of the Year Reports to your Administrator, School Board, PTA, School Stakeholders and Community Members. The charts and graphs generated by the data you insert into the spreadsheet can easily be inserted into a PowerPoint presentation, Word document or printed out for a Data Board.

Suggested Prerequisites:

  • Please download the Excel Data Collection Tool to a laptop computer and bring to the ICN session for hands-on training.
  • Also, please print and bring a copy of the Directions.

  • Notes:

Sessions are provided at no cost to PK-12 students and the adults working with or on behalf of PK-12 students in Iowa.
