Understanding Healthy Kids Act
Subject Area:
    Professional Development
As part of a Wellmark Foundation grant, the Department of Education will be assisting schools with the implementation of the Healthy Kids Act nutritional content standards, guiding schools in the re-examination of their local wellness policies, and helping parents and the greater school community in recognizing their role modeling potential.

This ICN is the first of many training opportunities available to school administrators and staff, students, parents, and the greater school community. It will provide an overview of the Healthy Kids Act and the revised Sample Wellness Policy, highlight future opportunities for training and technical assistance, and describe additional tools and resources that will be available to help schools implement the Healthy Kids Act.

Notes:

Sessions are provided at no cost to PK-12 students and the adults working with or on behalf of PK-12 students in Iowa.
