Can you imagine a company in operation today without a secure computer network? Or one that does not have staff capable of creating industry or company specific software? Not in today’s world…right?
In our world there are jobs and careers for people interested in these fields and this ICN affords your students the opportunity to learn about these careers.
This session will feature two career professionals who, while they come from different backgrounds, work for the same large company in central Iowa. One is the information systems VP and she is charged with application development and maintenance. She leads a team that writes software and is responsible for data management. The other is the is Enterprise Information Protection Vice President and takes care of information security and business continuity which means he has to keep the company on-line and able to conduct business even in an emergency. Emergencies that might impact the company include power outages, loss of the building due to a fire, bad weather and could even include a plan for pandemics.
