K-12 Connections Event
To Be a Seed
Subject Area:
    Science

Experience the awakening of life as students learn about seeds. The parts of a seed will be explored by dissecting a seed during the session. Students will learn what is needed to get a seed to grow and the basic parts of a plant. A seed story will be read and many types of Iowa seeds will be explored.

  • One peanut in the shell to be 'dissected' during the session. If student(s) are allergic to peanuts, sunflower seeds may be substituted.

April 22 is Earth Day!

Following the ICN session, registrants receive the complimentary books Grow Flower Grow! and From Seed to Plant or alternate titles.
