Freedom Seekers who escaped from slavery by traveling through the state of Iowa traveled East, not North. Find out why and other important information you’d need to make your own escape to freedom. Just remember: when traveling through Iowa, Don’t Follow the Drinking Gourd!

This workshop is offered at no cost by the African American Museum of Iowa.

Following this ICN session, confirmed registrants receive the complimentary books Sarny/Nightjohn and And Not Afriad to Dare or alternate titles.
