Off to College: What Every Student Should Know
Subject Areas:
    Careers/Vocational Education
    Guidance/Personal Growth
Many students today plan to go on to higher education after they graduate from high school. They’ve heard that they need to in order to get a good job. Is that true? If so, what kind of higher learning should they pursue? What else does one get from college besides job training? What should they look for when selecting a college or university? How can they prepare to be successful now and once they begin college?

Join Dr. Vicki Edelnant, First-Year Experience Coordinator and Director of the Pathways Center at Wartburg College as she discusses these questions with your students to help them make a well-informed decision and to prepare for college success.

Dr. Edelnant will share a glimpse of what to expect in college. Together we will craft a matrix for individualized student use in selecting a college that is a good fit for them. We will prepare a framework for students to build on to prepare for success in their first year of college and beyond.
