K-12 Connections Event
All About Owls
Subject Area:

Students investigate the amazing owls of Iowa with a naturalist from Warren County Conservation Board. First, participants enjoy the book, Owl Moon and then the presenter invites students to compare and contrast raptors and birds. The presenter helps students learn about the eating habits of owls by dissecting owl pellets. The presentation includes listening to owl calls and looking at various mounted owls. This session allows time for student questions, so please come prepared.

Feel free to bring along owl pellets to dissect during the ICN session. See 'Session Related Web sites' for ordering information.

Following the ICN session, participants receive the book Owl Moon or alternate title by mail.
