Inquiry Learning Through the Library
Subject Area:
    Professional Development
Inquiry learning is essential for implementing the Iowa Core Curriculum with rigor and relevance. It is also a core component of the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner. This session will overview the characteristics of inquiry learning through the library as they connect with the wider school curriculum. Specifics of the inquiry learning process as detailed in Carol Kuhlthau's Teaching the Research Process (2002) will be shared, along with inquiry examples matched to the Iowa Core Curriculum and grounded in the use of rich library sources, both print and electronic.

Notes:

Sessions are provided at no cost to PK-12 students and the adults working with or on behalf of PK-12 students in Iowa.
