Streaming Video - Requirements
To obtain a free copy of the handbook containing resources and classroom activities contact the Prairie Connections coordinator.

Each of the 9 ICN sessions can be viewed, live, on the Iowa Database website at prairie/video/ through the use of streaming video technology.

To view the programs, you will need(as a minimum):

  • 1. An Internet connection of at least 28.8 kbs.
  • 2. RealNetworks' RealPlayer 5.0 or greater (A freeware version of the software is available for download from RealNetworks' website at (http://www.real.com)
  • 3. A computer with the either of the following minimum system requirements:
    ---Pentium class; Windows 95, Windows 3.1, or Windows NT; 16 MB RAM; 2 MB of hard disk space; 256 colors; 16-bit sound card with Windows driver or
    ---Macintosh PowerPC; 8 mb free RAM, 2 MB hard disk space; 256 colors

Several of the 3 days of programs will be temporarily archived at prairie/video/, so you can come back and look at the programs at your convenience.
