The perfect lunch, that's as easy to make as grilled cheese.

Aged Gouda & Prosciutto Toasties

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp butter

8 slices of pullman loaf (sandwich loaf) bread

8 oz. aged gouda cheese, shredded

8 oz. young gouda cheese, shredded

12 slices of prosciutto chopped up

4 oz. red pepper jam

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Spread butter on one side of each piece of bread. Mix the aged and young gouda cheeses together.  Place two ounces of cheese on each slice of bread (opposite side than the butter).

Place bread (butter side down) on a hot baking pan. Bake in oven until cheese is melted, about 3 minutes.

Take sandwich out of the oven. Equally divide chopped prosciutto on four of the eight slices of bread. Serve with a side of the pepper jam and enjoy.

*Optional way to cook. Preheat skillet to medium high heat. Place cheese mixture and prosciutto on buttered bread. Close the sandwich and place in skillet. Cook and toast both sides. 

Serves four
