Deer are among the most abundant wildlife in Iowa, and one of the major game species targeted by hunters. That makes them a valuable part of the Iowa economy, too. But a fatal disease called chronic wasting disease has been found in Iowa's wild deer population and could threaten it. The Iowa DNR is asking the public to help keep the disease from spreading.
