A Place in Time: Historical Highlights of the Iowa State Fair, Early Years

The 1855 State Fair was held at Fairfield on a 10-acre tract. From 1856 to 1878 the Fair travelled to Muscatine, Oskaloosa, Iowa City, Dubuque, Burlington, Clinton, Keokuk, and Cedar Rapids.
