Rep. Steve King (R-Kiron) says the USDA did not have a contingency plan in place for responding to a bird flu epidemic as large as there was in Iowa. He says the USDA needs more microbiologists and more studies to learn about the virus and develop plans to respond quickly in the future.

Rep. Steve King (R-Kiron) says he hasn't decided yet if he will endorse a candidate before the 2016 Iowa Caucuses, but he's not ruling out Donald Trump. King also says Trump would be foolish to rule out a third party run at this point in the campaign.

Rep. Steve King says he supports the 35% threshold for candidates in a primary election. However, he says if a candidate doesn't reach 35%, he would prefer to see a runoff election between the top two candidates, rather than have the nomination decided by delegates to a convention.

Rep. Steve King says he's open to voting for someone other than Rep. John Boehner as Speaker of the House, if Republicans retain control of Congress after the 2014 elections. King says he has no interest in running for Speaker himself.
