Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, a Democrat, says the federal government should set a floor for minimum wage at $15 an hour. However, he says that should not prevent cities or counties from raising the minimum wage even higher based on the cost of living in that area.

Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson says he suggests a tax system based on proportionality, because it's the only thing that's fair. He says he would eliminate deductions and loopholes, because those create inequality.

Dr. Ben Carson, Republican presidential candidate, says the U.S. should offer expertise in resettlement and maybe financial aid, for Syrian refugees. However, he says the U.S. has citizens of its own suffering economically, so it doesn't make sense to bring in more refugees.
