Gretchen Tegeler cites potential solutions to shore up public pensions

Gretchen Tegeler, executive director of the Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa, says there are alternate approaches that could be considered to take stress of the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS) and other public pensions. One would be to include a 401k-type of retirement plan. She says ultimately, taxpayers are on the hook for fully funding pensions.
