Republican strategist Doug Gross says recent polling shows Bob Vander Plaats would not be a lock for the Republican nomination if he decides to jump in the 2014 U.S. Senate race. Gross says the race is still unformed, and primary candidates will have to raise a lot of money and develop a good organization in early 2014 if they want to have a chance of winning the nomination.
