The Iowa Brown and Black Gubernatorial Debate is a bi-partisan effort of the state's African and Latino communities. The four co-chairs of the debate committee are: Democrats Wayne Ford and Mary Campos, and Republicans Mary Ann Spicer and John Ortega. During the hour-long statewide broadcast, two co-moderators (Isaiah McGhee, Republican and Trinity Brown, Democrat) along with four panelists Mimi Lopez Latino Republican: Mark Elcock, Republican; Nathan Blake, Democrat; Preston Daniels, Democrat) question the Republican and Democratic candidates for governor.
