Political analyst Charlie Cook is widely regarded as one of the nation's leading authorities on U.S. elections and political trends.

He is the editor and publisher of the Cook Political Report and a political analyst for NBC News and National Journal, where he writes a twice-weekly column. He has been an election night analyst for CNN and CBS News and is a frequent guest on NBC's Meet the Press.

The New York Times calls his "Cook Political Report" "a newsletter that both parties regard as authoritative."

Cook offered his perspective on the Iowa Caucuses and the 2012 election during this November 29th lecture at Iowa State University's Memorial Union. His appearance was co-sponsored by the Harkin Institute of Public Policy and the ISU Committee on Lectures.
