MSNBC political analysts and long-time political journalists - Mark Halperin and John Heilemann - gave their perspectives -- and even some advice -- about how the Iowa caucuses and the 2012 Presidential political campaigns should be run -- when they spoke at the State Historical Building in Des Moines on December 9, 2011, as part of the Caucus Iowa Speaker Series.

Besides their print reporting experience for Time Magazine and New York Magazine, the two analysts are known for their frequent appearances on PBS's "Charlie Rose" show, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and as co-authors of the New York Times best-selling book, Game Change, which details the human drama behind the scenes of the 2008 presidential campaign.

The event was sponsored by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau.
