Economists address minimum wage increases at local level

Economists David Swenson and Ernie Goss say the kinds of jobs and industries that pay minimum wage generally aren’t the kinds of jobs people migrate to or away from. Employers within a community still compete with the same employers regardless of the minimum wage. The difference may be metro areas in which neighboring cities or communities have different minimum wages.
