Ethanol Politics: On the Thursday, January 3 edition of The Iowa Journal

January 2, 2008

(Johnston, Iowa) – Thursday’s episode of The Iowa Journal will examine the politics surrounding ethanol and the role the issue will play in the caucuses. The program airs Thursday, January 3 at 8:30 p.m. It will be rebroadcast Friday, January 4 at 9:30 p.m. on statewide IPTV-Plus and will also be available online at Iptv.org.

The stature of renewable fuel in Iowa is unmatched anywhere else in America. But as Iowans gather at the caucuses how will the candidates' stances on the issue affect their choices? The Iowa Journal examines what some say has been pandering, and others see as appropriate attention to an important issue. Featured in the program are Geoff Elliott, reporter for The Australian, and Matt Taibbi, contributing editor for Rolling Stone Magazine, who will discuss the Iowa campaigns and caucuses from an outsider's point of view.

Kay Henderson, news director for Radio Iowa, will also be on hand for a look behind the day’s headlines.
