Iowa Public Television Continues Tradition of Exclusive Coverage of Iowa Dance and Drill Team Championships

Saturday, February 3, Iowa Public Television will present exclusive statewide
coverage of the 2007 Iowa Dance and Drill Team Championships
at 8 p.m., and will rebroadcast the program Sunday, February 4 at 4 p.m. The program features all the championship
routines from every class, in every division and, new this year, features
highlights from the first-ever state collegiate championships.
More
than 260 of
Teams
competed in categories such as poms, jazz, kick, lyrical, prop, novelty, color
guard, and co-ed. Each team was judged
on choreography, execution, technique, showmanship, and appearance.
For
the first time, college students competed in a new division at the
Championships. Sixteen college teams competed for top honors.
Hosts
for this two hour, fast-paced, and spirited finals coverage are Scott Enyart, announcer,
Kathy Enyart, executive director of the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association,
and Lois Turnage, president of the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association.
