Digital Transition Countdown
June 11, 2009
On Friday, June 12, at 12:01 a.m., IPTV will complete the analog shutdown. During this time, viewers may notice an interruption in service as we shut our analog transmitters down and begin broadcasting only digital.
On Friday, over-the-air viewers should rescan their converter boxes or digital television sets so their equipment can find the channels that have moved. For example, in central Iowa, IPTV has been broadcasting digitally on channel 50, and we will move back to channel 11 on June 12.
Viewers watching IPTV's over-the-air signal from one of our translator stations will still only receive IPTV's analog signal and need to make sure their DTV equipment features an analog pass-through feature to continue watching IPTV after June 12. We will be converting the translators to digital in the coming year.
During the overnight hours, viewers can call the FCC's help line at (888) 225-5322 for technical assistance. IPTV's phone bank will begin accepting calls at 7 a.m. on Friday morning and can be reached at (800) 532-1290.
