Documentary rebroadcast to mark
Dr. Borlaug’s Congressional Gold Medal
(Johnston, Iowa) -- On Sunday, July 22 at 9:30 p.m., Iowa
Public Television will broadcast Out of Iowa: Norman Borlaug and the Green
Revolution. This documentary traces the life and achievements of the
Cresco, Iowa
native whose work helped feed millions of people during the last half century.
On Tuesday, July 17, Dr. Borlaug
will receive the Congressional Gold Medal, America’s highest civilian honor, during
a ceremony at the United States Capitol. Sunday’s documentary will be updated
to include footage from that ceremony.
In addition to the statewide
broadcast of the documentary, Iowa Public Television’s national agribusiness
program Market to Market will feature a report about Dr. Borlaug’s work
and accomplishments. Market to Market will be broadcast
Friday, July 20 at 8 p.m., and again Sunday, July 22 at noon on statewide Iowa
Public Television.
