How to watch Iowa Press, Market to Market, and The Iowa Journal on IPTV WORLD

October 2, 2009

Every Saturday, Market to Market airs at 8 a.m. on IPTV WORLD, The Iowa Journal airs at 8:30 on IPTV WORLD, and Iowa Press airs at 9:30 a.m. on IPTV WORLD.

(NOTE: FOR FRIDAY OCTOBER 2, THE SCHEDULE HAS CHANGED, and LOCAL SHOWS WILL BE ON IPTV WORLD FRIDAY EVENING TOO.)

Wondering how to watch?  Essentially, IPTV WORLD is on our .3 channel over the air, or Mediacom channel 119 statewide. Check with your local provider on how to see us in your area.

Iowa Public Television currently offers three programming channels:

  • IPTV (.1)--IPTV's main schedule airs on the .1 channel. Here's where you'll find PBS Kids programs in the daytime, documentaries, British comedies, how-to programs and more.
  • IPTV LEARNS (.2)--The .2 channel is IPTV LEARNS. This channel features great how-to programs during most of the day and PBS Kids programs from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. each evening, and all day on weekends.
  • IPTV WORLD (.3)--This channel broadcasts quality local, national and international public affairs programs 24 hours a day, including IPTV's Intelligent Talk Television series.

These channels are available, free of charge, to viewers who are watching IPTV with an antenna and a digital television set, or a set connected to a digital converter box.

Mediacom Cable carries these channels in a digital cable package - with IPTV Learns on channel 118, and IPTV World on channel 119.

Among Iowa's other cable providers, some have said they will carry the other IPTV channels, and some have announced they will not. We encourage you to contact your provider for more information, to let them know if you would like to see all three of IPTV's digital channels.

Unfortunately, satellite companies have told us they plan to carry only our primary channel, and will not be adding IPTV Learns or IPTV World to their systems.
