Iowa Public Television Celebrates Iowa Talent with 2011 Terrace Hill Piano Competition
(Johnston, Iowa) -- As part of the network’s commitment to showcasing talented Iowans, statewide Iowa Public Television will broadcast exclusive coverage of the 2011 Terrace Hill Piano Competition on Monday, April 11 at 8 p.m. The special will be rebroadcast Sunday, April 17 at 1 p.m.
Six high school seniors performed at Iowa Public Television before two judges and a live studio audience earlier this year. The competition was then narrowed down to three finalists vying for college scholarships. The hour-long IPTV program includes the complete performances of the three finalists.
First Lady Chris Branstad was on-hand to present the awards. Mrs. Branstad was instrumental in establishing the Terrace Hill Piano Competition in 1986.
