Yellow Story Time Fever!

Wow, people at the Putnam Museum were
excited to see my story times yesterday!

IPTV story time at the Putnam Museum!

Maybe that's because when I do story time
I rock the boat a little!

And when I do story time I like to think outside the box!

Sometimes when I do story time I learn something new,
like this awesome all-star karate chop!

But no time for karate chops! I needed to get on
the train for the Family Museum that afternoon!

Something wasn't quite right with a few of the kids there,
although I couldn't put my finger on it!

Nothing a little help from the Food Pyramid can't fix!

Dan's Wise Advice of the Day:
Flying squirrels will never reveal their secrets,
not even in exchange for cereal!

Reading Bug Transformation!

Yesterday morning's story times featured "make your
own bug" headgear at the Davenport Public Library!

Luckily, there were lots of kids to
help me figure out how the headgear worked!

Some of the creations were pretty praying mantis-eriffic!

Fun was had by people of all ages!

That afternoon, we shared story time at the
Muscatine Public Library where all the kids were "BIG" readers!

In Muscatine the reading bugs were crawling all over the place!

Luckily, reading bugs help pollinate the flowers!

Week three of the Reading Road Trip is over! I think I'll celebrate
by going to a restaurant and reading a fabulous book.

Dan's Wise Advice of the Day:
A moldy accordion should never been played at a wedding!
Events like weddings demand a moldless instrument!

Friday the 13th!

Yesterday was Friday the 13th, and my bad luck started
when I was almost trampled by a huge crowd in Davenport.

Next I discovered a key to time and space
and foolishly unlocked a door to another dimension.

In this weird new dimension I was the king of Davenport.

But then I started to grow and grow,
and the next thing I knew, I was bigger than the whole town.

Luckily, a couple of dimensional experts helped me find a portal
to get me back just in time for Bettendorf's story time!

But this wasn't the Bettendorf I knew -
everything seemed so upside down!

In fact, I discovered an exact copy of myself made out of balloons!

The meeting of the real Dan and the balloon Dan caused a rift in time and space,
and I was blasted back to earth just in time for the Cat in the Hat to read me a story!

Dan's Wise Advice of the Day:
Never play the game "Duck, Duck, Goose" with a real duck or a real goose.
The same goes for the lesser known game "Tiger, Tiger, Skunk" -
never play with a real tiger or a real skunk!
