Courtney Maxwell Greene returned to WHO-TV Channel 13 News in 2004 to co-anchor the station’s popular long-running weekend morning newscast, Today in Iowa Saturday. Courtney is a Des Moines native and active in the community. She graduated from Des Moines’ East High School and the University of Iowa with a Journalism degree.
Courtney started her career at WHO-TV in 1992. In 1997, she left the station for an anchor/reporting job at WDAF in Kansas City. In 2000, she returned to Des Moines and WHO. In 2002, she left again to spend more time with her young family.
Besides her family and professional achievements, Courtney is also very active in her church, serves as Secretary for the Des Moines Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, and the is President of the Des Moines Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
You can see Greene on Today in Iowa Saturday, central Iowa’s only local Saturday morning newscast, from 8 AM to 10 AM. The program has been on the air since the early 1990s.
Courtney and her husband, Franklin Greene, live in West Des Moines with their two daughters, Rachel (6) and Samantha (3).
