Morgan Halgren was raised outside of Kansas City, Missouri in Parkville, Missouri. Her parents owned and operated a summer theatre called the Bell Road Barn Playhouse.
She studied languages in college and lived in several countries as she studied Spanish, French and German. After a brief stint as a flight attendant for TWA, she went to graduate school at Indiana University and completed two years towards a Masters in Spanish literature.
She moved to Indianola, Iowa with her husband in 1971 and has done radio and television commercials, narrations, public speaking, training and industrial films, "on-hold" phone messages for over three thousand businesses around the country, and other voice work since 1973.
She began work at Iowa Public Television in 1978 covering the State Fair. She hosted the weekly magazine show, Take O.N.E. for eleven years, and has enjoyed being host of Living in Iowa. Although she retired from the weekly series in December of 2005, she will still show up on IPTV from time to time.
